Community Guidelines — English reference

The main rules for posting games, assets, reviews, progress, and recruitment posts.

Last updated: July 19, 2026

Purpose of these guidelines

Gamine helps people involved in game creation share and discover games, assets, reviews, progress, and recruitment opportunities, and turn them into feedback and collaboration.

These guidelines are not intended to unnecessarily narrow creative expression. They exist so posts are understandable, necessary warnings are present, and rights and safety problems can be avoided.

Core principles

  • Respect the individuality of games and game-development assets
  • Describe games, assets, reviews, progress, and recruitment clearly
  • Apply necessary disclosures so visitors can choose what they see
  • Respect rights holders, asset creators, reviewers, and collaborators
  • Use mute, block, age restrictions, content warnings, and reports to maintain safe distance
  • Keep moderation sustainable for a small service

What belongs on Gamine

  • Games you created or contributed to
  • Assets, tools, templates, plugins, voice, music, sound effects, images, UI, and other resources for game creation
  • Development and release progress
  • Reviews, impressions, and feedback about games or assets
  • Recruitment for testers, collaborators, and asset contributors
  • Information directly related to making games

Unrelated promotion, general chatter, outrage bait, or posts whose main purpose is to redirect people elsewhere may be hidden or removed.

Poster responsibilities

  • Post only material you own or are authorized to share
  • Do not use another person's work, text, images, audio, video, or code without permission
  • Check licenses, credit requirements, and permitted uses of materials and tools
  • Apply appropriate age restrictions and content warnings
  • Disclose meaningful generative-AI output and its main uses
  • Correct, explain, remove, or relabel a post when a valid issue is identified

Gamine does not pre-screen every post. Operation combines user disclosure, community reports, and administrator review.

Prohibited content and conduct

Rights infringement

  • Unauthorized copying or distribution
  • Using material outside its license
  • Omitting required credit
  • Presenting official or commercial work as your own
  • Distributing games, ROMs, data, or modifications without permission

Impersonation and deception

  • Impersonating a person, organization, company, or operator
  • Claiming work you did not contribute to
  • Intentionally falsifying reviews, achievements, awards, compatibility, or distribution conditions

Harassment and harm

  • Harassment, threats, doxxing, stalking, discriminatory abuse, or incitement to violence
  • Using reviews, comments, reports, applications, or recruitment to attack someone
  • Instructions or content likely to enable real-world self-harm, crime, fraud, exploitation, malware, phishing, or credential theft

Spam and moderation evasion

  • Mass duplicate posts or unrelated promotion
  • Affiliate, recruitment, or solicitation posts with no meaningful Gamine-related content
  • Fabricated or exploitative recruitment
  • Intentionally omitting disclosures, reposting removed material, evading account restrictions, or obstructing moderation

Content requiring R18+

  • Explicit sexual content or content primarily depicting sexual activity
  • Strong nudity or sexual suggestion unsuitable for minors
  • Realistic, persistent, or exceptionally cruel violence
  • Strong gore, mutilation, corpse desecration, or highly detailed blood and injury
  • Specific depiction or encouragement of self-harm or suicide
  • Concrete or approving depiction of illegal drug use or criminal methods
  • Real-money gambling or gambling-like systems unsuitable for minors
  • Content centered on endorsing discrimination, hatred, or violence

Gamine’s R18+ label is a Gamine-specific self-disclosure, with administrative correction when needed. It is not a rating issued by CERO, ESRB, PEGI, or another ratings authority, and it cannot guarantee that minors will not access the content.

R18+ does not replace content warnings. Add both when the content calls for both.

Content-warning labels

Warnings are not a judgment on artistic value. They help people avoid material they find difficult or prepare before viewing it.

LabelTypical use
BloodMild or moderate blood and injury
Severe injury or goreGore, mutilation, or strong bodily damage
HorrorHorror atmosphere, intense tension, or distress
Jump scaresSudden appearances or startling effects
Flashing lights or strong visual effectsFlashing, intense light, camera shake, or other strong visual stimulation
Sudden loud soundsAbrupt loud audio, alarms, or intense sound effects
Self-harm or suicideNarrative references or themes without instructional detail
Abuse, bullying, or harassmentDepictions of abusive relationships or victimization
Death, loss, illness, or griefBereavement, illness, loss, or intense grief
Discriminatory or hateful depictionsCritical or contextual depiction of prejudice
Substances or addictionDrugs, alcohol, tobacco, or addiction as themes
GamblingGambling-like themes, including fictional currency
Mild sexual suggestionNon-explicit sexual suggestion or fan-service
Crime or antisocial conductCrime or antisocial behavior used as a story theme

If the boundary is unclear, apply the closest warning and add a brief factual note, such as “mild blood near the ending,” “strong flashing in the video,” or “horror themes without jump scares.”

Generative-AI disclosure

For games and assets, disclose generated output that remains in what users receive. This can include images, music, voice, text, translations, 3D models, distributed code, or runtime generation.

Examples that should be disclosed

  • Generated backgrounds or characters that were edited and included
  • Generated music, sound, voice, text, translation, or 3D models
  • A game that generates text, images, audio, or levels during play

Examples generally treated as not included

  • Ideation or consultation whose output does not remain in the work
  • Proofreading or typo checking of text you wrote
  • Ordinary IDE or browser code completion

When uncertain, choose partial use and explain where and how it was used. The disclosure does not guarantee rights, distribution permission, safety, quality, or originality. Asset authors must separately confirm that the AI service’s terms are compatible with the license they offer.

Game posts

  • A clear overview and current state, such as prototype, in development, demo, complete, or discontinued
  • Where and how to play, supported systems, controls, language, and expected play time
  • What kind of review or feedback would help
  • Age restrictions, content warnings, spoilers, and known issues
  • Credits for assets, tools, and collaborators
  • Generative-AI use, including runtime use, when applicable

External links should be safe and consistent with the post. See the Game posting guide.

Asset posts

  • Asset type, file formats, supported engines, and dependencies
  • Commercial-use, modification, redistribution, and credit conditions
  • Copyable credit wording and prohibited uses
  • Samples, use examples, included files, and update history
  • Generative-AI use and method when applicable

Do not bundle third-party material unless its license permits redistribution. See the Asset posting guide.

Reviews and comments

  • Say which version and environment you used
  • Separate strengths from requested improvements
  • Distinguish personal preference from bugs or unclear behavior
  • Mark spoilers
  • Consider the creator's requested feedback topics when practical

Do not attack people, hide that you did not play, manipulate ratings, or use reviews for retaliation, threats, or solicitation.

Recruitment and applications

  • Role and work involved
  • Schedule or deadline
  • Whether and how compensation is provided
  • Communication tools
  • Required skills and current project status
  • Ownership, permitted use, credit, and publication of deliverables

Even unpaid opportunities should make workload, responsibility, and credit clear. Exploitative or materially misleading recruitment may be corrected or hidden.

Profiles and user information

Do not impersonate people, misrepresent achievements, publish another person’s private information, include threatening or discriminatory content, or link to dangerous or unrelated promotion. Profile and header images appear widely and therefore must not contain material that requires an age gate or strong content warning.

Improvement Board posts

Write concrete, public-safe suggestions about Gamine. Check for similar suggestions, keep each post focused, and remember that anonymous display does not prevent identification through details in the text.

Do not post personal information, private report evidence, account-specific data, undisclosed vulnerabilities, or criticism of identifiable people. Use Contact for non-public matters.

Reports, corrections, and moderation

Depending on context, Gamine may request corrections, adjust warnings or disclosures, hide or remove posts, warn users, or suspend accounts. Unclear first-time disclosure mistakes are normally handled through clarification or correction; repeated intentional misrepresentation or refusal to correct may lead to restrictions.

When you are unsure

  • Is the intensity unsuitable for minors?
  • Even if no age restriction is needed, would some people reasonably want advance notice?
  • Is a structured warning more useful than only a tag or description?
  • Are rights, personal information, safety, or harassment involved?
  • Could the post place an unreasonable burden or risk on creators, viewers, or collaborators?

Adding an appropriate warning does not reject the work. The goal is to let people who want to see it find it and people who need to avoid it do so.
